Aaaaaaaagh!

I signed Dingo up for soccer at the local parks department and have been waiting to hear from his coach to find out when practices start.  Well, the reason I hadn't heard from anyone is that they didn't yet HAVE a coach, but rather were calling around to the parents to see who would do it and you know me, I can't say no, so I guess I'm now coaching a soccer team of 6 and 7 year olds.   As if I weren't busy enough.

I played soccer the whole time I was in school, so I'm familiar with it, but dang, that was a long time ago, plus I'm not sure I'm that great working with kids.  Fortunately my Mom, who coached and played back in the day, has agreed to help, so we're both going to get certified this week.    I had to pick team colors already and they want me to think of a name, which I suck at, so I'm going to call around to the parents and see if I can get everyone's emails and take suggestions for a name.  I picked light blue as our team color, btw, since it's Dingo's favorite.  

And apropos of nothing...even though I've gotten some random exercise, I haven't been to the gym in a week because of sick kids and crazy schedule, but I have my workout clothes in the car and cannot WAIT to get to the gym after work.  I don't feel good when I don't go.

I hear ya on the 'can't say no' line! I never thought I'd be good with kids either. I just knew I'd not like them/want to beat them/they'd hate me. I guess it depends on what you're doing WITH them, because I never wanted to do anything with other kids before doing theater stuff. I had no clue I had it in me!! You'll do well. You're such a loving mommy person... they'll all adore you.

Remember your mom went to national coaches school for soccer. (We were busy cooking hot dogs at the time).
