Well, I had big plans for getting my grocery shopping and some laundry done last night, but what I actually ended up doing was getting my eyebrows waxed and watching a DVD. My eyebrows do look great, but now I feel a little guilty that I didn't get more done.

Jesse called me here at work about an hour ago and said "Hey, how would you like a free sushi lunch? If you want one, I'll have one of my people get in touch with you at noon." *blink blink blink* ...one of his PEOPLE? I'm not sure Jesse should be thinking of his grandmother and brother as his staff, though for all I know he's hired an assistant and that's what he means. Or maybe he's been hired as an executive somewhere, although you'd think I'd have to sign some sort of permission slip or something.

My grandma is in the hospital for the third day. They thought she might be having heart problems, but it seems to be her ongoing liver issues. Kind of sucks to be a lifelong Southern Baptist teetotaller and then end up with liver problems. I went down there the day they admitted her, but I guess I should go back this afternoon and visit.

In other news, my office has dropped to about 32 degrees, my coffee has little ice floes in it and there's a polar bear family living in my file cabinet. Well, maybe it's not that bad, but it is pretty frigid in here. I can't wait til one of Jesse's people gets in touch with me so we can go do lunch someplace warmer.

Ow, ow ow. Stupid endometriosis.

Work was slow today, as you might expect, but I did manage to snag a client. A few more and I can look busy more convincingly. I also got some forms I needed and some office supplies and a little bit of training.

Jesse came down with adenovirus suddenly yesterday morning. He's been to the Dr and is recuperating, but is still just a little feverish and tired. He's been lying down all day yesterday and today and not talking much, which is not like him at all. He ate soup today and asked for chicken and rice for dinner, which I made. No one else seems to have caught the virus, for which I'm grateful.

I'm going to go get comfortable in my bed and play a board game with Dingo and let Jesse lie down with us too, if he likes. It's nice and cool in my bedroom.

I knew we had wasps hanging around the back door, but hadn't done anything about it so far because they weren't buzzing us or anything. But tonight two got in the house and Dingo stepped on one and got a very bad sting on the ball of his foot. After an emergency trip to Walgreen's for sting relief gel with a very sad 5 year-old, I searched out the nest and committed some wasp genocide, for which I do not feel a bit bad.

R called this morning and our blue kitty we've had 13 years since she was a tiny climby clawey thing was very sick today. She's been slowly getting thinner as she gets older but the last two days has apparently not been eating at all and she was all weak and ill looking today. Mom and I picked her up and took her to R's vet and they are keeping her for the weekend for IVs and antibiotics and tests. She may just have an infection or it may be organ failure. We'll probably know soon. She was such a sad kitty today but I am hopeful. Even as weak as she was she tried to stick her claws in the vet, so she still feels a little like herself.

Jesse is in a couple of selections from Annie tonight at 6:00 at the Broken Arrow Community Playhouse. If anyone's out that way, feel free to come by and see the show. It's...well...you can't buy entertainment like this, that's all I have to say.

I spent some time last night and this afternoon on this:

I escaped from the Dungeon of Lisamoe!

I killed Kinkedriotfemme the nymph.

I looted the Sceptre of Neandernerd, the Amulet of Logic Problems and 3 gold pieces.

Score: 53

I got a really good score once and looted lots of stuff but I was on my Treo and cutting and pasting my results would have "exceeded clipboard limit" so I'm just posting this sucky score. You can try my dungeon or your own or I guess anyone else who has an lj name. It's a cute little surreal take on those old text-adventure games. I particularly liked You are walking through a flooded corridor. Bones are scattered in the shape of jane austen and You find yourself in a candlelit oubliette. You hear the sound of attachment parenting in the distance
