Mmmm....bugs and sunburn! Yay for nature!
Apr. 12th, 2003 11:42 pmThe "campout" was more fun than I anticipated. It was in an air conditioned bunkhouse with a kitchen, but a couple of people, including
mamaduck set up tents outside and a few of the older boys slept out in the tents. I ended up with both my little campers in a twin bunk with me, which was crowded but sweet. There were plenty of beds to go around. They just love mama.
Aside from the fact that I think I had an ovarian cyst twist or burst last night and I had to drug myself, and that the baby was still a little sick (a fact I found out in an unpleasant fashion at 2 am) it was a good time. And Jack really liked it, which is wonderful because he tends to be a little picky and inflexible sometimes. He withstood the outdoor cooking and the change of routine really well, though, and he was very proud to have earned a nature emblem for his vest. Which I'll have to sew on, I suppose.
