Nov. 20th, 2005 10:17 amWhew! That was a busy weekend. We went to DFW and saw the Ft. Worth zoo, the botanic gardens, Medieval times, the Museum of Science and History, Cafe Modern (the restaurant at the Mus. of Mod. Art) and Imax show about T. Rex, a planetarium show about the solar system, and the Kimball Museum. On the way there we ate at Robertson's Hams and on the way back we ate at a Mexican restaurant in Ardmore that seems to specialize in quail. We cashed in our $53 worth of lottery tickets and bought a few more and won another $7, so far. The kids got lot of souveniers along the way from the museum shops and zoo shop and Med. Times and I got two nice things at the Kimball Museum, a dichroic glass neclace and a pewter box shaped like a frog that holds a little jeweled crown. We were pretty exhausted when we got back last night. I can't believe how much stuff we packed into essentially a day and a half in the city. I'm still too tired to write much about it.

Date: 2005-11-21 02:00 am (UTC)Is the Dallas Zoo really nice too? Mom lived in Ft. Worth in the 60s and wanted especially to hang around there and see the sights, but I'd like to come back to Dallas before way too long. There are a few things there I know I'd like to see, but any suggestions would be welcome.

I've heard the Dallas World Aquarium is really nice.
Come down the first weekend in March and go to the Irish Festival!
