Well, we managed to take over an hour to go on a two miles nature hike at Turkey Mountain tonight. Of course we turned it into a three mile nature hike of much festive lostness. Both children thought they knew the way when we got to a three way fork. And they were both wrong, but we didn't know that until we went kind of a long way down each of their paths. Anyway, it was a lot of fun, though I must warn you if you did not know this, that printed maps that make trails look all flat and easy may not be entirely topographically accurate, and taking two boys in sandals up a steep rocky slope is nothing compared to getting them back down it.

Anyhow, it was fun and scenic and the weather was beautiful, and my mood is always much improved by a little exertion. And we returned alive before dark, so I must count our expedition a success.
