I got a very short email today telling me that a friend had died and was found in his apartment. I called R, who is closer to the deceased and he confirmed that it was indeed true and I got more details. I think my friend was just in his late forties maybe, and seemed in good health. They don't know what happened, but R tells me it they are saying natural causes. This is the second friend in his forties that we have lost in about the last three months. I didn't know him nearly as well as my friend who died in October, but R was fairly close to him as they worked together for some time and I feel really awful about the whole thing. A couple of my acquaintance was very close to him and had known him since college and I know they must be very upset, but we aren't currently hanging out and I don't know really what to say to them, though I am truly very sorry for their loss. My Mom said she would call them later tonight and see how they are doing though.

It's unsettling when you reach an age that your friends are passing away and it might be natural causes. That didn't happen so much when we were in our teens and twenties.

I hope the people who were closer to him are able to find some peace and comfort. It was an utter shock for me, so I know it must have been very bad indeed for them.

I don't think so. He lived elsewhere when you were here and only moved to Tulsa a few years ago. He's an old friend of the M's.

Yeah, in my teens and 20's it was car crashes, suicides, and OD's that took most of my friends.
