The weekend

lisamoeMy eyes are watering and my throat burns with the fire of 1000 suns and my right ear hurts and is making me dizzy. Other than that, though, it was a good weekend, lol. I came on in to work today because I thought they wouldn't believe me calling in sick after a 3 day weekend, but they are only too happy to let me go home now that they have seen me. I'm going to leave after our 10:00 weekly meeting.
The weekend was great though. We left for KCMO on Saturday morning, got to the Coco Key waterpark about 3:00, swam and slid for a while, went down to the original Arthur Bryant's because Jesse had seen it on the travel channel, then went back and swam until the park closed at 9:00. Then we went to the hotel restaurant for free appetizers and drinks (they came with our "club level" room, which I got REALLY CHEAP on Expedia) then we were off to watch the fireworks. We could see several displays across the city from our 14th story window and that was quite exciting.
Jesse woke up early the next morning, so I drove him down to the City Market to look around and then we came back and had breakfast (free also!) in the hotel restaurant with R and Dingo, then we were off to swim and play at the arcade again until about 1:00. When we left, we went to the Red Dragon House downtown, which is R's and my favorite Chinese restaurant, and then headed for home. We stopped at Dairy Queen for snacks halfway home because we have no Dairy Queen here.
So anyway, good weekend, but the week is not looking so great so far, what with the sore throat.
