So my friend Amie at work tells me that she doesn't want to go see WALL-E because some other friend told her it's "all about making fun of fat people."  Did you get that from it?  I sure didn't.   I think someone may have missed the message.  I thought it was a good movie, but it was so heavy handed with the messages thatI don't know how you could miss them, but people are stupid sometimes.

I got the message of getting off our butts, stop letting corporations think for us, and planting pizza trees for future generations. Oh, and that some things are more important than personal happiness.

Yeah, that was pretty much what I thought. I didn't at all get the impression that they were just poking fun at the obese.

I won't see it 'til it comes out on dvd, so I'm no help. I think oftentimes people see what they want to see... or they feel... convicted(?) about something that was already bothering them.

I agree. But I am touchy myself about portraying fat people as just gross or stupid, but I didn't get that at ALL from this movie. It was pretty cute. You should get it when it comes out on DVD.
