Somehow I manage with a small hatchback...
May. 6th, 2008 12:12 pmI saw a news story today that said that frustrated SUV and pickup owners can't unload their gas guzzlers even at a discount, now that gas is so high. My first thought was not sympathy, but actually "Hahaha!"
I guess it's a little mean spirited, but I have often thought that a lot of people in ginormous SUVs and pickups when they don't have any need for them were just kind of being status-obsessed jerks and I guess now that's come home to roost. I have a friend with an old suburban and another with a full size van, but both of them have a LOT of kids, so I can see the need, but I also know people with maybe one or two tiny children who never go further offroad than the Starbucks drive-thru who still have to have the biggest baddest SUV out there and that makes no sense to me. I drive small cars and R is 6'5" and he drives a Dodge Neon and gets around just fine with two kids in the car, so I know it can be done.
