Power outage over.
Dec. 16th, 2007 05:51 pmOur power came back Friday night, yay, but the internet didn't come back up til late last night. We weathered it better than I'd have thought if you had told me in advance that our power would be out all week. Of course the propane heaters and the many candles and flashlights and of course the generator really helped. It was almost luxurious compared to what a lot of our neighbors were having to go through. We still have a lot of limbs to cut up and drag to the curb, but it's not taking too long with the chainsaw and the city has said they don't have to be bundled, just drag them out there.
I spent part of yesterday and today getting the house back in order from all the chaos of having had the lights out so it's cleaner than usual now, plus Dingo and I put up the Xmas tree while Jesse went out doing stuff with R yesterday. I also wrapped a big batch of Xmas presents and they look really nice under the tree. I had already cleaned out the fridge and the small freezer during the blackout so now they're cleaner than they've been in years, so that's a bonus, and our chest freezer made it through with most of our meat and stuff. All in all, things are perhaps better than back to normal, with the exception of dmamge to two body panels of the Saturn, which considering the size of the tree that fell on it, is pretty amazing.
Hope everyone else is doing well.
