So today on the very same stretch of south Peoria, I saw a three-car wreck (at about 2:00) and a hit and run (just after 5:00) The wreck at 2 was a couple of cars behind me and it was a little unnerving just because it could have been me if I'd been a few seconds slower, but the thing at 5 has left me really pretty shaky. A green minivan swerved across traffic into a parking lot, almost hitting a black sedan along the way, and then ran right into a man standing in the parking lot (I had my windows down for the nice weather and got to hear the thud, yuk) and then tore down off a neighborhood street. It looked very deliberate, not like a car out of control. I pulled in to where it happened and the guy was bleeding all over the place, but not dead. He was breathing and trying to get up but I couldn't understand what he was trying to say. It was kind of garbled. Some other folks had run up and were keeping him still and a store nearby called 911, so there was nothing I could do but wait for the police to give them my name as a witness. After the cops came and I left I thought I was fine, but then noticed on the way home that I was getting startled by things I wouldn't normally even notice, and I still feel really freaked out and jumpy and like I have a potential migraine coming on.

Thanks, I did. I still felt weird when I drove past the spot this morning. I looked to see if I could see where the guy had been laying but it rained overnight and you couldn't tell.

OMG! I can not even begin to imagine... I would be jumpy days later!! a lot of people would (and probably did) just drive on and not stop to help ~ you are an amazing woman!

I don't know how you couldn't stop for something like that, out of sheer curiosity even if you weren't a person inclined to help.

I didn't stop for the morning accident, but only because I hadn't had a good look at what happened, just heard the noise and saw the aftermath, so I wouldn't have been any good as a witness and it didn't look like anyone was hurt.

It was weird driving past the same spot this morning.

It was a really strange feeling. Just a little aftershock, I guess.

Oh wow, I get very shaken up when I see accidents after they happen...Especially when they JUST happened. Drove past one on my way home from Indiana one time and the people were not fortunute enough to make it. I have always seen them in my mind before going on a road trip...

Oh and I'm Christy, was just browsing through the TulsaTime friends and saw this...

Hi Christy. I've spent all day wondering what happened and if they found the van that did it, but didn't see anything on the Tulsa World website. Maybe there will be something tomorrow.
