Woohoo! R and I had talked about taking the kids to Chicago this year so I checked to see what special exhibits were on at the museums so we could plan ahead. Guess what? The traveling King Tut exhibit will be at the Field Museum starting in late May, so that made our decision for us. Tickets appeared to be selling briskly, our first date choice was already gone so we went ahead and bought tickets for our second choice. Of course now I have to plan the rest of the trip around that date but that'll be fun. Jesse and I are SO excited. I saw a different Egypt exhibit there back in the early 90's and it was really wonderful. I can't wait.

We saw it here in L.A. it is a good exhibit. BUT in Chicago it is at a truely great museum, THE FIELD MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY. If your kids love dinosaurs this is the place. Sue, the t-rex is on display right in the lobby. I'd plan on spending some time in the rest of the museum it is huge!

I've been to the Field Museum twice, back when I was married to Randy and you're right, it's just wonderful. While we're in Chicago, we'll see the Shedd Aquarium, the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Zoo if we have time. I'm not sure how much more we can work in but if anyone has suggestions, I'd take them. Dad said there's a cool boat tour he'd recommend, but I haven't looked it up yet.
