We got up at 6:30 today and went out to the Gatesway Balloon Festival to watch them flying. We parked half a mile away and walked over, which was fine on the way there when it was cool but it was getting hot by the time we left. Have I mentioned I hate summer? Anyway, we saw 20-25 balloons, some right over us and some heading perilously into downtown, and that was way cool. Mom and I liked the giant pink Energizer Bunny balloon, Davey liked a hideous clown balloon, and Jack liked the tiedye t-shirt stand. We also saw the kids' friends Rosie and Noah. Their folks had parked clear over at the soccer fields and had a quite a walk back; they must be more adventurous than we are. Anyway, we're home and ready to go back to sleep. At least I am, lol.

And it was hot already by 9? Ick. I am considering taking the girls out there (and a camera, of course!). Not sure yet where I'm gonna park... don't really want to pay $5 to park and don't want to park with EVERYONE else. I also figure they're all in the air by now, right?

I am so with you on the hating summer thing. We went running around yesterday afternoon doing errands. Which shouldn't have been a big deal at all, but wouldn't you know it, the weather got extra hot again! When we finally made it home I had to crash for a while to recuperate from the outing. Man I so hate that.
