My FIL passed away about 20 minutes ago. So we have another funeral for the boys to go to. :-( Jack is asleep now so I won't tell him til tomorrow. I'm expecting he'll take it hard but I'm glad I took the boys both out this afternoon to say goodbye. Please send R your good thoughts. He wasn't perhaps as close to his father as he was to his mother, but it is very difficult for him losing both parents within 5 weeks of each other and he did love them both.

My condolences. I'm very sorry for your loss. I wanted to comment earlier that I think it's great for you to allow your boys to experience this part of life. My parents shielded me from my grandmother's death, and also from my uncle's, which was around the same time. I think it made it scarier to be kept in the dark like that. I admire you for the way you are handling this with your boys.

My condolances Lisa, and let me know if there's anything I can do. I think it's good to let the kids go to the funeral if they wish--I let Darien go to Deb's funeral last week, and he said he was really glad he got to go.
