Bad, good, bad...

Wow, work really sucked yesterday. I work for a small non-profit with a board of directors. The new chairman of the board is a crazy bitch, but no one figured it out until a few weeks into her term, and now they're stuck with her for a year. There was a board meeting yesterday, that I was required to attend, although not allowed to speak at (very hard for me), where she and several other board members really got into it. Plus the crazy Judge I work with came and bawled us all out because we had refused to do some strange thing she had requested that isn't part of what our organization does. My co-worker was crying by the end of the meeting. My director was drafting her resignation letter. Some of our best advocates were there and were ready to quit too. And I'm just in the middle of it wondering what to do. The stressful part was that I could see some solutions to mediating the whole mess, but not being on the board, I couldn't offer them. Oh, well, I get paid just the same if they're idiots or not, I guess.

So I went out last night after I got the baby to bed and had a very pleasant and relaxing time. Even when my husband called to tell me to come home early because the baby was awake again, I was still in a good mood, although I had intended to meet Pops at the coffeeshop and didn't get to. I got the baby to sleep in short order and fell asleep myself before 10:00, which I never do.

Then I dreamed about big spiders. It's always something.

I'll buy that. It sounds a lot better than it just being plain old spiders on my ceiling. I really don't like spiders. Of course now I'm a little worried about big spiders in the afterlife carrying me off. Could I request an otter or a llama or something? I rode an elephant once and that was fun.
