My former supervisor at DHS called me today and asked why I wasn't back at work yet. I told her that I was waiting to hear from her colleague, we'll call him Bob (because that's his name) about when to start, what position they were offering, etc. She said, OMG, Bob's MIL died four weeks ago and his wife has been sick and he is so far behind he'll never catch up. She didn't know I was waiting on him to get some of my paperwork done on their end. She said she would take care of it personally. Yay!
I'm not totally ecstatic about going back to work for child welfare, but I really need a job, and need one now, and the pay and bennies are pretty good, all things considered. And I already know how to do it. I haven't heard from my other interview yet, but I mentioned it to Vikki (my-ex boss) and she said she would try to get in ahead of them because they really want me back. I feel loved. ;-)
