My work is full of skullduggery, treason, backstabbing and trash-talking right now. It's making my co-workers crazy, but I'm kind of digging it, just for the excitement. I get bored easily.
Did I mention that I work for a tiny suburban non-profit child advocacy organization? You wouldn't think we'd be up to this sort of thing, but our board of directors got all crossways with each other over the last judicial election and now they're divided into two bitterly opposed camps. And we, the staff, are caught in the middle of it. Unfortunately, exciting though it is, it's made it impossible to actually do the job I was hired to do.
So, I spoke to a supervisor of mine at a previous workplace and got another job offer, although I'm not sure specifically for what position (they have several). Whatever it is, it won't be a commute to Claremore and I'll never have to see this board or our mentally unstable Judge again.
The good thing about all this is that I have nothing to lose now, and totally don't have to filter what I say to or about the board members. That's been fun. My boss, who is also caught in this mess, through no fault of her own, is still trying to be nice even though she's quitting too, because she's a good person. I wonder what that's like. :-)
