The play Jesse is rehearsing now opens Friday and runs for two weekends and then as soon as it closes the second Sunday we hop in the car and rush to Seminole, OK to drop him off at Seminole State College for a week of engineering camp where they make robots run through mazes and study mass flow systems and hydrodynamics or something like that. Then the day after he gets back from that he and Dingo have auditions for another play.

Dingo is at day camp this week making friends and getting to swim a lot and go skating, but also getting a really bad sunburn on his face no matter how much sunscreen he puts on, and Jesse is at Theatre Camp, which is a lot in addition to the rehearsals he's already in, since he has three shows for that this week, two the same afternoon as opening night of this play. We've had to cancel drum and guitar lessons for the week because we can't fit them in, and Dingo has a fish fry to attend with his Kung Fu buddies the same time as Jesse's play on Saturday which is going to be difficult.

The next person that finds out we homeschool and asks me "But what about socialization?" is going to get a big fat punch in the face.

You know, i don't think I've gotten the "socialization" question forEVER. I just get the "OMG, I couldn't STAND having to be around my kids all day" or "My kids don't listen to me, so I could never do that." which is mind boggling on its own:)

they are better than some of the others i know. Some parents forget about socialization. you have not, and you remember to teach as well. thats another thing that is important.
