I think I may take the kids to see The Last Airbender tomorrow. They have been waiting for this movie forever and really want to see it. The reviews were pretty bad, so I was going to try to talk R into taking them, but now I've read SUCH bad reviews that I kind of have to see it for myself. Could it really be THAT bad? I just read that "It's a hate crime against people who like movies," that "The best way to see it in 3-D is with your eyes closed," and the "This is get-up-and-walk-out quality stuff." I really can't resist.

I saw it tonight with a couple of friends and we all enjoyed it a lot. I think the boys will like it a lot. You may even find yourself liking it. :)

We enjoyed it, but not maybe for the reason the filmmakers wanted us to. It was kind of like watching MST3K.

Imagine a really detailed Graphic Novel, not a movie. Then you can enjoy it.

That would be true if the camerawork had been any good. As it was I thought I was going cross-eyed at one point. We just started laughing halfway through and enlivened the movie with a few "boom-chicka-bow-wows" and "that's what she saids."
