We're home and all set for the impending storm. We've got freezing rain now, but nothing too serious. My work sent us home early and won't expect us tomorrow, so yay! I made soup yesterday and just took a quiche out of the oven and I have lots of food to cook. We have a gas stove so can always cook even in an outage. We have a generator so we can run the TV and lights and charge our phones and computers and we have a propane heater that will keep at least the living room pretty warm. I used the storm as an excuse to wash all our blankets and linens, though I don't expect we'll need that many, it's good to have them all clean anyway. I'm so glad that I spent the last few weeks de-junking the house. If we're going to be stuck inside together for a few days at least we have clean tabletops for games and the living room clean in case we have to bunk in it if the power goes out. I'm glad too that we got the kids smartphones. If all else fails at least they can play games and get on the net to amuse themselves. :-)

I'm glad you are home and all prepared! We have wanted to get a generator ever since we were without power for 8 days back in the Dec.2007 storm.. someday I'm sure it will be labled the storm of aught 7. Finances haven't allowed the purchase yet.. so I'm still a bit concerned if we end up with another power outage of that sort! But I digress.. your post reminded me, if we do lose power we have a really intriguing Alfred Hitchcock puzzle we can pull out to entertain ourselves with! It's one of those that don't give you a picture of the puzzle to work with.. a true mystery!
