Writer's Block: Holiday blues

Well obviously, I don't enjoy the holidays as much now as when I was a child. It wasn't any work then. There isn't really an emotionally challenging aspect for me, as my family is great and we don't make a big holiday deal anyway, but it is financially challenging. Every year coming up with money for gifts for everyone usually requires either borrowing and being kind of broke until February or just buckling down during December and being REALLY broke then. It's not that I go crazy overboard on gifts, just that my budget really won't take the hit of even a few hundred dollars all at once and that's what my list usually ends up costing.
