So here's what I don't get. You put your kids in public school for 12 years to hear whatever a bunch of random teachers say about every topic under the sun and you're just NOW worried about indoctrination? From a short speech on staying in school? By the President? Really? Really!?

If my kids were in public school, I'd want very badly to see a copy of that speech BEFORE my kids hear it.
Not everyone can manage to HS, but when instructions to teachers go out with directions to instruct students to support the agenda of the President, that's no longer 'stay in school' - that's political maneuvering.
The hasty backtread on the directions doesn't reassure me in the least.

That's what I was wondering. That is one of the main reasons I don't put my kids in PS, because I want to have a significant part in what they're 'fed'.

I'm just going to talk to my daughter about it. Explain my personal position on the subject, but I don't think it will be an issue. They gave the schools here the choice to watch it or not. You can be sure that she will be aware of the situation before she goes to school though.
