Fun with the kids

This afternoon R took me and the kids out to see Pink Panther 2, which was quite funny if you like that sort of thing. I had gotten the boys funny Valentine's cards and told them I'd take them to Vintage Stock after the movie for a game apiece for a V-day present. Dingo took me up on it and got a Tony Hawk skateboard game for PS2, but Jesse said he'd rather have a big Quizno's sandwich from the shop next door than a game, lol. I had been going to get them boxes of chocolates, but Dingo is picky about candy and Jesse doesn't really have a sweet tooth, so I thought something else would be better. I know a lot of people don't do V-day for the kids, but my folks always got me a box of chocolates and a stuffed animal or some such and I remember how much I liked that before I was old enough to have a real Valentine. Anyway, I was pronounced "best mom on Earth" this evening and got many hugs and kisses. It was a nice evening.

Jon and I took Conner and Nikki to get dinner (thai food...Nikki's favorite) and then we took them to the mall to let Nikki pick out a toy and Conner run amuck in GameStop with his trade-ins and stuff.

We also got them some Valentine's chocolate and Nikki a stuffed puppy with a heart. :D

I usually do something for the kids, but this year things were just too hectic and I forgot about the holiday altogether!

Didn't get my girls anything this year for the first time. Our soon to be 15 year old announced last year, "Getting a Valentine from my dad is a little on the sad side." Fortunately, she was gone on a debate trip Friday and Saturday, so I don't know that she noticed. Our 12 year old had a dance the night before, basketball games the day of, and was treated royally the rest of the day as mom and I shopped around Branson.
