Jan. 1st, 2009 07:40 pmToday I took a big two-meat, four-cheese lasagna and some Cole's garlic bread to R's for my gamer buddies. R provided salad, drinks and desserts. The lasagna was a huge hit, yay, and my friend Frank was there, which I hadn't expected. He's career Air Force and almost always stationed in Germany or Korea so he was a surprise. My friend John brought me a box of Godiva dark chocolates and my friend Greg brought me a bag of Ghirardelli mint chocolates, both excellent choices. Frank brought Krispy Kremes, so is Dingo's new best friend because nobody loves Krispy Kremes like Dingo loves Krispy Kremes. It was a fun and convivial afternoon, even though we played a game that I just wasn't getting into. I am probably more relaxed and myself with those guys than with anyone else. Plus it's all men, and I do better with men apparently. Anyhow, it was just what I needed.
After we left, I drove Dingo to Vintage Stock to spend his allowance on a PSP soccer game and then I came home and heated up that fancy brisket with garlic butter rice and steamed vegetables and some cinnamon rolls for dessert. Jesse opened up his bottle of sparking grape juice for us and we had a really nice meal and are all on the couch now cuddled up with laptops and TV. :-)
