Today I saw a dead pelican in the road on Southwest Blvd. That is a little odd in that I live in Oklahoma, a state not known for its surfeit of shorebirds.
I also had the following two conversations today that pretty much illustrate my two children's personalities.
Me: Hey Jesse, do you like orange Milano cookies?
Jesse: Yeah, they're my favorites!
Me: Do you want one? I bought these yesterday.
Jesse: Um, isn't it almost dinnertime?
Me: Oh c'mooooon, just eat one!
Jesse: (resignedly) Ok, but just one. It is almost dinnertime.
and
Dingo: What are clouds made of?
Me: Water vapor, which comes from the oceans, I guess.
Dingo: No, really.
Me: Whaddya mean "no, really?" That's what clouds are!
Dingo: (confidently) No, they're actually from farts that float up into the sky.
