I have a friend from high school who I haven't seen in years but I still feel all warm and fuzzy about. He was a great guy, funny as hell, and one of the sadnesses of my life is that we never really saw each other again after those high school days. We never dated, though I had a crush on him for a while that I'm sure he didn't know about, but I was also very happy just being good friends. Anyway, he's married and lives in New York now and we're in periodic contact just to check in, but it might be years between emails.

So anyhoo, this morning, before I was even out of bed I got a phone call with worrisome news. Not really anything bad for me, but something potentially bad for someone I care about. Just as I was breaking out my emergency bottle of Xanax so as to be able to get through the day without worrying excessively, I checked my email and there was a message from my high school friend sending me a youtube link he thought I might like and asking how I was. It makes me happy everytime I hear from him and it was just what I needed today, a little lift from the outside from someone who didn't even know I needed a little lift. I took the Xanax anyway though, just in case. :-)

Thanks! The Xanax was a bad idea, btw. I took a whole one instead of a half like I sometimes do and it made me dizzy and sleepy all day. But not worried, so that's something.

Dingo and I are planning on coming for your birthday, btw. Jesse is tied up with a rehearsal for a skit he's in the next day, but Dingo and I never miss a party if there's the possibility of cake and/or ice cream, lol. Is there anything we can bring?
