May. 2nd, 2008 05:06 pmWell, I managed to make it to the gym twice this week despite my schedule conspiring against me. Today's workout felt really good and productive. And though once again my weight isn't going down much on the scale, my new jeans I just bought last week in a 16 are looseish, yay! And I'm having to give away some shirts I bought just weeks ago. I had to keep hiking my jeans up today and am going to have to put a belt on to go out and work at a golf tournament tonight. I was wondering how I was still staying in shape (for me) when I haven't been able to faithfully get to the gym 3 times a week, but I've added in two soccer practices/games a week, which are surprisingly physical even just to coach. Anyway, if I could get into a size 14, I think I'd feel like I had a real measure of success. I'm sure some of you skinny minnies on my list would puke at the idea of being in a 14, but for me, it would be back to what I wore about 25 years ago. Once soccer season is over, I'm trying to figure out what i could do a couple nights a week to make up for not having soccer anymore. I don't like running or walking to no purpose; I'd rather have something that has a goal and the exercise is incidental, like the soccer. Maybe I'll just take Dingo out to the soccer field twice a week and work on his skills for an hour at a time. That would be purposeful and good for both of us.
