lisamoeDick Cheney came to town today to do some lame fundraiser for Sen. Jim Inhofe and managed to shut down the entire fucking downtown. They closed all the highways going into downtown and created 2 mile long traffic jams as they shunted cars off to highways they didn't want to be on so Dick could have the road to himself. We didn't get caught in the traffic, but passing by we (Mom and the boys and I) did get to see the traffic jam and also got to see Dick's SUV-laden Motorcade of Hubris on its way around town.
You know, if people hate you so much that you can't go anywhere without shutting the whole road and inconveniencing literally thousands of ordinary citizens who are just trying to get to work and go about their lives, then just stay home in your bunker in Washington. I saw Bush 41 in Tulsa one time and they had security around where he was, but I don't recall having to shut down the whole damn town.
The great thing was that they wrote citations to a bunch of protesters for "obstructing traffic." Uh yeah. I don't think they were the ones that shut down the BA expressway...
