Ok, I've been experimenting this week with letting the house go some, so I can get more rest. But now it's a pit and I have company tomorrow, so I'm going to have to stay up and clean it completely tonight. On the other hand, I'm more rested and better able to deal with staying up for a really long cleaning session. An improvement? Don't know.

I find I feel more rested and calm if I keep certain things done. There are some things that make a lot more work if you don't do them regularly, and there are some things that will be about the same amount of work whether you do them once a day or once a month. For example, there is no way I can let the laundry or dishes go undone. But if I don't vacuum or make the bed today, will it make any difference tomorrow?

I hope this helps you sort through what you want to set for the standard of cleanliness you can accept. It's a hard line to draw sometimes.

Yeah, I can get by without sweeping or mopping and I never make the bed anyway :-) But the problem is that I really LIKE it clean around here and I'm not really happy with stuff scattered all over. I'm trying to find a balance I can live with.
