Well, the Tulsa area appears to be more or less on fire. link. There's been thickish smoke all over the city and it's making me cough but we're otherwise unaffected here where I am. The nearest big fire appears to be about several miles away from here. Of course we could be next...the across the street neighbor, and by neighbor I mean idiot, tried to set his lawn on fire a couple of days ago. He has a blackened spot several feet across and a partially burned shrub from flicking his cigarette into the dry yard on a windy day. I heard the commotion and went out to see him trying to stamp the fire out and sent Scott over to help. Together they got it out in just a few minutes, but it was just stupid to have happened in the first place. I kind of want to leave a gift wrapped ashtray on his front steps. Maybe wrapped in the newspaper article about the fires....

We had the attic fan on yesterday until our house filled with the smell of the fires too much. Our neighborhood was smoky. It was weird.

And I'm sure the neighbor would not have "gotten" the ashtray or newspaper hints.

I didn't hear fireworks where we were, but no doubt they were in abundance over near y'all. It is stupid.

No, probably not. Actually, he seems rather a likeable guy personalitywise, the little I know of him, but he lets his little dogs run loose and after that stupidity I kind of wish he'd move.
