Jun. 11th, 2005 12:19 amI took the boys to see Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3D tonight. You know those kids' movies that also work on adult level so you can enjoy them too? Well, Sharkboy and Lavagirl isn't one of them.
It was ok I guess, the kid actors all did a pretty good job, it had a good moral to it, and the boy playing Sharkboy did some impressive fighting sequences which I understand he performed himself. But overall, it was probably fine if you're a fairly unsophisticated 7-11 year old and kind of a bore and a bit muddled for anyone else.
Jack gave it a thumbs up, of course. Davey sat through it quietly, but laughed through the action sequences and shark attacks and stuff, which is probably a good review too. I mostly watched the time, hoping it wasn't going to be much longer, just so you know if you were planning on taking some kids. I'd say take a book and a small flashlight, or just go see Madagascar instead, which WAS a good time. :-)
