Apr. 16th, 2005 03:39 pmI had a long work day yesterday including taking two custody kids to a shelter in Eufala, which is a 170 mile round trip. After work I took my kids out to eat and then to see Robots and then we went to WalMart. Did you know the theater down past 81st W Ave in Sand Springs is only $2 before 6:00 and $4 after 6:00, for first run movies? It's not as fancy as the new theaters, but whatever, it's not like my kids are going for the ambience.
This morning we went to the Herbal Affair in Sand Springs, which was very pleasant, then we came home and worked in the yard til the kids tired of it and started throwing dirt, at which point I packed them off to their daddy's house, lol. At the festival I bought 8 varieties of heirloom tomato plants, including black cherry, green zebra, white, gold pear, tommy toes, purple something or other I can't remember, Mexico, and "Radiator Charlie's Mortgage Lifters" (yes, that is the name of the variety.) I also bought a bright blue morning glory vine to run up the front porch.
I saw
sweets7 and
moonpack_alpha at the herbal thing and we hung out a little and watched
mamaduck's clog dancing group perform while the kids played games in the kids' tent. Oh, and I bought a big bowl of chicken and noodles from this Amish church booth for $2 and an IBC black cherry pop from some boy scouts for $1. It was SO good and really good prices for festival food. You should have gone. :-)
