Wow, snow!

I left early today to meet Roger and his boss and wife for lunch in Tulsa, plus it was snowing and I wanted to get back to town. I was supposed to meet them at noon. Due to the snow, I didn't get there til 1:00. They weren't there, so I left, thinking I'd missed them. It turns out that they didn't get to the restaurant til 1:30. And they were only going about 4 miles. I left at the same time and came from Claremore. WTF? So by the time the afternoon was over I had driven for over 2 hours in horrible snow for no reason. Then the power was out when I got home. That was ok though. I lit candles and the kids liked that. It's back on, obviously.

Tonight we went out and grocery shopped a little and ran some errands. The roads were much better, but people are still driving like idiots. I'm tired just from all the driving today. The funny thing is that Tulsa was absolutely gridlocked from noon to 2:00 or so, when everyone was leaving early because of the weather. That's also when it was snowing hardest. At 5:00 or so, the streets were much better and the snow had largely stopped, so the people who waited til then probably had a much easier drive.

As soon as I get the baby to sleep, I'm going to have "spa night for mommy." I'm going to dye my hair, give myself a facial (no snickering, please), shave my legs, take a bubble bath, exfoliate and moisturize. Doesn't that sound nice?
