1. What holiday or holidays do you celebrate this time of year?

Christmas, but in a pretty secular sense. I try to recognize the solstice as well, but we don't have a party or anything.

2. What was the best gift you have ever received?

I've been lucky. A painting bought for me by my parents when I was a teenager, a portrait of me by my first husband was very touching at the time, a ring I received once, a big box of Godiva chocolates that were too expensive and wholly unexpected.

3. What was the worst gift you've ever given?

I'm not sure. I try really hard to pick out things people will like. I'm sure I've probably given something horrifying, but no one has ever been so unkind as to tell me about it.

4. Where will you be celebrating the holidays? Are you hosting? Going away?

Christmas Eve, having a few friends over. Christmas Day, having my parents and grandmothers over. The day after Christnmas, going to my SIL's with Roger's family. Although I may miss that if I go to work that day.

5. If you could spend the holidays with someone who isn't around, who would it be with? Why?

My long lost sister. Mom and Dad never should have sold her to the gypsies. And my friend Victor, who I haven't seen in some years. Because I love them both and miss them.

1. What holiday or holidays do you celebrate this time of year?
I don't really celebrate any particular holiday, the season just sort of happens around me and I go with the flow.

2. What was the best gift you have ever received?
The memory of driving all over Seattle with Jana looking for someplace...anyplace...to get something to eat on Christmas day. We forgot to buy food in advance and were both ravenously hungry. D'oh!

3. What was the worst gift you've ever given?
A bag of shrink wrapped dessicated frogs - it was in a dark bar, and the guy who I gave them to thought they were beef jerky...good thing someone stopped him before he got the bag open and stuck one of em in his mouth. Heh.

4. Where will you be celebrating the holidays? Are you hosting? Going away?
On Christmas morning I'll get up and play Santa for Cameron, and then at around noon, I'm going to Jana's place to watch movies and open presents.

5. If you could spend the holidays with someone who isn't around, who would it be with?
My Mom, The Otter, Oscar Wilde or Curt Wild

Why? My mom is in her 80's - this might be the last chance to see her.
I miss the Otter - and find her current soap opera life fascinating.
The Wild(e) boys would be brilliant and/or entertaining.
