Tonight the kids and I are taking a "fake-ation." That's a vacation where you don't go anywhere. We checked into the Comfort Suites across town this afternoon and swam and used the hottub, then we ate snacks from the gift shop, played boardgames in the room and watched TV. Then we went out and met
mstami and her daughter and the daughter's bf for dinner and then came back to the hotel for all the young people to swim, which they did for an hour and a half at least while Tami and I had a nice chat. I also got to get in a quick cardio workout on the machines in the fitness room here, which was nice since I went to the gym Thursday instead of Friday this week. Now I'll be on schedule to start back on Monday.
Tomorrow morning, they have a free hot breakfast buffet which the kids are champing at the bit for, and then we're going to swim some more til checkout time. It's been a good day. The kids are happy, I got to get away from feeling like I have to clean or anything, and we pretty much avoided the whole day of nasty weather. I highly recommend this sort of break for a crappy weather day like today. If you stay at the indoor pool all day, you can pretend you're someplace warm like the beach and the windows are so fogged over you can't see how grey it is outside. :-)
