So, what's your reading "comfort food?" You know, the things you go back and reread over again just because you love them so much. I have some. I don't know if they're all really great literature, but hey, they're what I like when I'm down or bored or in need of distraction. You know...comfort food.

(I know this is a longish list, given that I've included several series. I'm a compulsive and fast reader.)

Nearly any Nero Wolfe books/short stories, by Rex Stout. I've read the whole series at least three times over.

Any Jane Austen, particularly Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility

Daughter of Regals (short story collection) by Stephen R. Donaldson

The Mirror of Her Dreams/A Man Rides through, by Stephan R. Donaldson

Any of the Vorkosigan books, by Lois McMaster Bujold, particularly Komarr and A Civil Campaign

Many John Irving novels, especially The Cider House Rules, A Prayer for Owen Meany, and The Hotel New Hampshire

ANY P.G. Wodehouse.

The Robin Hudson series, by Sparkle Hayter

Ring of Fear, by Anne McCaffery

The first several Honor Harrington books, by David Weber

The Secret Life of Eva Hathaway, by Janice Weber

Summer Sisters, by Judy Blume

The short stories of Saki (H.H. Munro)

There are almost certainly more, but without getting up and going through my bookshelves, this is all I can think of.
