Kid activity update

Dingo's soccer team is 2-1-1 this season, which is already more games than he won last season with me as coach. I'm very very pleased with his new coach and how nice and supportive he is to the kids while still teaching them real skills. Dingo makes friends with other kids easily, but doesn't warm up to new adults well at all, but after a few weeks, I can tell he's comfortable with his coach now and that's really good. He wants to quit gymnastics and says he will go to Kung Fu an extra night a week for the exercise if he quits, so I'm going to let him quit after the fall session is up. He used to really love gymnastics, but now it seems like they have a coach who does more just calisthenics and exercise and not a lot of gymnastics skill building and he's not really having a good time or learning much.

Jesse had an audition callback last night for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever at Clark Theater. I hope he gets a part. We've switched all his acting classes to Clark this year and he's taking improv, directing and scriptreading classes as well as a homeschool drama class and attending the Clark Youth Council meetings. Jesse has been at Theatre Arts for three years and it's a good school, but Clark is a LOT cheaper, a lot closer, and the kids have much more of a say in what they do, plus they have actual performances and plays, where Theatre Arts just has one recital at the end of the year where your kid does a few songs. He's already had one improv performance at Clark and he's only been in class for 6 weeks. I am super happy with our experience at Clark so far.
